THE STORY SO FAR: Though they've only been together in their current lineup--vocalist Nate Richardson, guitarists Matt Scarpelli and Brannon Harris, synth operator Joel Rabara, bassist Nick Richardson and drummer Anthony Scarpelli--since June, Mozart Season are already headlining shows locally, as well as opening for bands as varied as Emery, Halifax and Kane Hodder. Their secret to building a rep in record time? "We have a unique blend of screamo, hardcore and pop, along with a live show that's second to none," says Anthony Scarpelli. "Every time we play, whether there are two eyes or 2,000 watching from the crowd-we guarantee it'll be the most passionate, energetic performance you will ever witness."

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Did we mention Mozart Season also know something about ambition? They already have a Warped '06 stint lined up; they finished independently recording their debut EP in October; and they've already earned bragging rights as California's No. 2 emo band on MySpace. All that's missing is a record label to help them hit that proverbial next level. "We'd like to create a relationship with a label that shares our passion for music and wants to take the journey with us," says Scarpelli.
