HQ: Bemidji, MN NOW PLAYING: Assorted demos THE STORY SO FAR: Coming out of a suburb of Minneapolis these days and not playing pop-punk winds along an uneasy road. But atmospheric four-piece the Voice Of Sleep aren't interested in any other kinds. "Aside from a few great artists, most bands [in Minneapolis] sound like Copeland or Motion City Soundtrack," says vocalist/guitarist Wyatt Overman. "We formed out of necessity to try to create music that made us experience a certain emotion." WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Featuring everything from piano to xylophone, the Voice Of Sleep (Overman, guitarist/pianist Jeff Ley, bassist Kelsey Wefald and drummer Zeb Norenberg) paint vivid instrumentals with delicate vocals that sound like what Sigur Ros would if you could understand a word. Overman says, "Our sound is like a feeling being repeated back at you with a set of words included." YOU LIKE?
