NOW PLAYING: Unspoken Lies Speak Loudest EP
THE STORY SO FAR: After forming in mid-2005, co-ed post-hardcore five-piece My Last Entry weren't about to let a nasty thunderstorm ruin their first show-a battle of the bands. "The power went out, but the show went on," says frontwoman Brittney Petrea. "We were the only band to play off a generator." The next year, My Last Entry made it to the final round of the Bodog Battle Of The Bands in their home state of Texas and translated their buzz into gigs with Drop Dead, Gorgeous and blessthefall.
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: They may look young-and they are (Petrea was 15 when MLE came together)-but they have the sort of polished, screamo-infused sound of a band who's been at it for twice as long. "When people see us, they automatically assume we're just following 'the scene,'" says guitarist Josh Reynolds. "But time and time again, we've proven ourselves onstage." [TJK]
