THE STORY SO FAR: TV/TV had their name chosen before it became ironic (see below). Vocalist Josh Ocean and guitarist Joe Esposito began making GarageBand demos in their East Village apartment in 2006. After expanding their lineup and recording their EP with Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (All Time Low, Cartel), they were internet sensations. With raves from the Daily Chorus and MTVu, their dance-pop soon began surfacing on every TV show from The Real World to Living Lohan.
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: If it's good enough for Dina Lohan, it's gotta be good enough for you. Aside from their obvious marketability (they also have a song on EA Sports' NHL 09), they've got the pop-rock chops to back it up-evidenced by opening gigs with the Bravery and Jupiter One. "The songs are tight and catchy; they rock but have pop sensibility," says Ocean. "This band kicks your ass and it's just that simple."
