THE STORY SO FAR: Admiral's Arms haven't had much time to rest since their formation in 2007. "After recording our debut EP, we toured nonstop, opening for bands like August Burns Red, Misery Signals and Shai Hulud," says bassist Matthew Rigg. As AA ready themselves to begin work on their first full-length this winter, they're also marching toward their dream of signing to a U.S. record label and playing Warped Tour '09. At least they have some help. "[Former Norma Jean drummer] Daniel Davison will be flying to Paris to shoot our promo pics and album artwork."
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Not only were Admiral's Arms tapped by MySpace France as one of the four best French bands in metal, the hard-rocking five-piece are a veritable United Nations in their own right: Vocalist Hendrick Gorecki is Polish; guitarist Jamie Ryan is Irish; guitarist Simon Reinaudo is Spanish; drummer Andrea Lus is Italian; and Rigg is the lone American. "You'll never see a stranger mix of foreign dudes making heavy music," Rigg says. "If we tour the U.S., we will teach everyone how to properly French kiss."
