HQ: Southern New HampshireNOW PLAYING: Small Business SolutionsEP THE STORY SO FAR:The Human Flight Committee originally formed in 2002, but the lineup you see today doesn't look much like it. "Although members have come and gone, the principle has stayed the same," says drummer Garret Henderson. "With a new drummer and a new guitar player [Chris Alfieri], and ex-drummer Aaron [Shelton] singing and playing organ, the band hasn't stopped and changed so much as it has flowed into a new form." Helping keep the musical form flowing--and twisting, and turning, and jackknifing--is bassist Chris Shelton; luckily, the band haven't jackknifed their van, as they've completed multiple U.S. tours in the past few years. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: "We like to think that we bring a different perspective to an all-too-often 'follow the leader'-style music scene," Henderson says. "Our live show is definitely something that people look forward to. High energy, chaotic, fun and dancy is the only description, even though just hearing those words in the same sentence doesn't make any sense." It might not make sense on paper, but it definitely works on plastic: The band's Renfield Records-released 2004 EP, Small Business Solutions, is a perfect introduction to this band, but their new stuff will really floor you--and that's just the start. "Our newest songs and writings have taken on a life of their own, and the band itself cannot contain where it's headed," Henderson muses. We'll guarantee one place they're headed--to the top. --Scott Heisel YOU LIKE? YOU'LL LIKE: Fugazi / Bear Vs Shark / Q And Not U Official Website: http://www.humanflightcommittee.com
