HQ: Seattle, WA. NOW PLAYING: Nothing Broken Nothing Damaged. THE STORY SO FAR: After brothers Nick (vocals, guitar) and Chris Jones (bass) finished college, they reconvened in Seattle to create a band with an epic sound. As the duo prepared to record their debut Nothing Broken Nothing Damaged, they incrementally added instruments (strings, Glockenspiel, etc.) to the mix. "Chris and I wanted to make something that sounded huge without being excessively loud," says Nick. "We picked any instrument we could imagine before finding the people to play them.". WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Expanding on their free jazz-meets-film noir influences, the brothers Jones matched musicians with instruments and now perform with nine to 12 members. "I really wanted to make sure this band was not just another indie band with strings, but a group where the strings are an essential part of our sound," Nick says.
