THE STORY SO FAR: So new that she still had her civilian surname when this issue of AP went to print, drummer Terri Lord (ex-Sincola) is just the latest top-tier addition to this five-year-old band of classic-punk superstars-in-waiting. Lord's bandmates, Sabrina Applicator (vocals), Erica Applicator (guitar/vocals), Kristina Applicator (bass) and Cookie Applicator (guitar), have already made some friends in high places, having recorded their 2001 full-length, What's Your Excuse, with Bad Religion guitarist Greg Hetson. The goal this year? "Tour, tour, tour," says Erica. "Music is what we live for the goal is to rock as many people as possible!"
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: We thought we were just having fun with Erica when we gave her 30 seconds to convince AP why 2006 is gonna be the year the Applicators take over. Shows what we know: "Thirty seconds, eh? Easy: How 'bout we handcuff you to a chair and sock your rocks off?" (Gulp.) Though a scheduled Wasted USA appearance this October fell through when the festival was canceled, the band wasted no time jetting off this month for a tour of Germany and Italy, after which they'll celebrate their return home by releasing the follow-up to Excuse. -Nora Eassburg
