According to bassist/vocalist Justin Lafontaine, the modus operandi of Philadelphia noise-rock bruisers Sore Saints is nothing short of “trying to sound frightening and aggressive without just banging around on everything. We write like we play live—at stage volume—because tone is usually a big part of songwriting for us. It can trigger ideas and fun stuff to do live.” The quartet are hitting the road for a few dates with ’90s underground legends Come in early July, with plans to record another EP in Toronto later this summer. “Musically, we wanted to write the kind of music that we loved, but didn't really see anybody playing anywhere,” says Lafontaine. “We kind of selfishly started the kind of band we'd like to see play live.” [JP]
