In late 2010, after having an unpleasant experience touring as the rhythm section of a punk band, married couple Cara Kinnally and Greg Simpson decided they didn’t need a band—it could just be the two of them. “We formed Outdoor Velour to make exactly the music we wanted to make, and maybe make a few fans along the way,” says bassist Simpson. Outdoor Velour describe their music as “Fuzztown. It’s equally influenced by classic ’60s Motown pop as it is by the obnoxious distortion of bands like the Jesus And Mary Chain.” Outdoor Velour hope to tour in the spring while continuing to issue more EPs in the future.
