In 2012, vocalist Jean-Rene Renusson decided to shut the doors of MXTP, the concert venue he owned in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and focus his attention on performing music rather than hosting it. All he needed was a band, which wasn’t too difficult, considering dealing with musicians was something he did daily. “I learned a lot from bands when owning my venue,” Renusson says. “I learned the good and the bad. One of the main reasons we closed is my heart just wasn't in owning a venue for bands to play; it was to be onstage, touring the world and getting my story out in musical form.” (Renusson recruited members from bands that used to play at MXTP to form the band.) Chinese Baseball are looking forward to doing more touring this year.
