Formed in summer 2011, Ontario, Canada’s Goodbye Sky Harbour—yup, they’re named after a song by one of their biggest influences, Jimmy Eat World—are “a rock band with a generous helping of pop sensibility, focusing on solid melodies and catchy hooks,” says bassist Adam Shoji. While the presence of vocalist Colleen Carrigan nets them constant Paramore comparisons, Shoji isn’t too bothered by it. “We all have a shared passion for the type of music we’re playing now,” he says. “It’s a type of sound we think needs more of a presence in our local scene.”
