Most of It Is I played around Chicago under the name Corduroy until recently. In their new incarnation, the quartet sound very of-the-moment: They’re a synth-based pop-rock band with heart and creativity. “Beneath the surface, we take different jazz, classical, international and experimental influences in many of our songs,” says bassist/vocalist Zach Porlier. “So maybe we are a meticulously crafted pop band who need to rock and really can’t figure ourselves out.” Plans are afoot to work on a full-length and book more shows around their hometown.
