Canadian pop-rockers the Maddigans formed in the spring of 2008 and within a year, graduated high school and immediately headed out on tour, “which was when we realized we could do this full time if we worked hard,” says vocalist Trisha Watson. The band recently followed 10 Warped Tour dates around Canada and Northeastern U.S.—not playing, just tagging along in their van, handing out flyers and selling their CDs to people in line in order to pay for gas. “It was great meeting people and making fans on such an intimate level,” says Watson. “It was nice to see each person’s reaction when we had iPods playing our music in their ears.” Their experiences in promotion have paid off; the band are set to tour Europe after the new year.
