In 2008, “nerdy” interests united the members of Dallas’ Page 9. "We were all into nerdy things like The Simpsons, Futurama and Star Trek, and decided to hop in a van and start touring immediately,” vocalist Josh Roa-Martinez says. Page 9 derive influences from both pop-punk and hard-rock, citing Papa Roach and System Of A Down as bands that inspired them. “We tend to get antsy when we're away from our van,” warns Roa-Martinez, “so you'll definitely be seeing even more of us around the country quoting off-handed Matt Groening references and spouting off dry humor.”
