Detroit, Michigan’s Squid The Whale first formed in 2008 with a revolving lineup of friends that wasn’t solidified until 2011. Singer Bradley Walden notes, “We have all been friends, even enemies at one point. Without Myspace, none of this would be happening right now.” The quartet play a mix of rock and soul with influences from classic rock to hip-hop. Thanks to plenty of grassroots touring, the guys have built a supportive fanbase that allows them to travel, play music and have fun. “We don't know how to do—and love—anything else,” says Walden.
