THE STORY SO FAR: With the pedigree behind SoCal post-hardcore five-piece Nations Afire, it's no wonder they didn't spend years toiling in dive bars. The band--vocalist Steve Ludwig, guitarist/vocalist Chris Chasse (ex-Rise Against), guitarist/vocalist Nik Hill and bassist Brett Rasmussen (Ignite) and drummer Todd Hennig (ex-Death By Stereo)--played their first show at this past spring's Bamboozle Left, promptly departed to play the Groezrock punk and hardcore festival in Belgium alongside the Get Up Kids and NOFX, and then hung around for a European tour with Death Before Dishonor.
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: If you don't already know the work of the members, now is the time to get familiar with their new endeavor. "Being a group of long-time 'veterans,' we don't settle for anything," says Chasse. "We push ourselves as hard as we can physically, mentally and creatively to make sure we come out of the gates as a serious, memorable band."
