THE STORY SO FAR: It's becoming increasingly difficult to deny that one kid with an iBook can go from bedroom recordings to the big-time before his or her MySpace page is fully designed. As Jordan Witzigreuter finished high school in 2007, he spent his time recording electronic music in his basement, and by last summer, he was touring full time and recording with Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (Cartel, Mayday Parade). "I try to keep things as simple as they can be with just myself writing," says Witzigreuter. "The songs all start from simple piano parts and turn into big, harmony-filled, upbeat pop jams."
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: If you attend this summer's mtvU tour with Boys Like Girls and NeverShoutNever, you're gonna find out for yourself. The Ready Set (in full band form) will bring their addictive pop chops to the tour, followed by a run with the Scene Aesthetic and the Dangerous Summer. "Our shows are a party with crazy lights and crazy energy," says Witzigreuter. "All I care about is having fun."
