The Story

Kiven, who are featured in tha AP&R section of AP #311 (out now), teamed up with Tony Hajjar (At The Drive-In, Sparta) as producer for for the track "I Can Take It" from their new self-titled album.

"The band gave me some music and I responded about how much I loved 'I Can Take It.' Our conversation just kept going from there," says Hajjar. "We had such an easy back-and-forth on ideas, and we had pretty much the same vision to where the song needed to be. Working together on this song proved to be as all music should be: really easy, really smooth, and super energetic."

Kiven vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Tyler Demorest adds, "We thought we were already finished with the song but after showing Tony the track and hearing his feedback, we asked him to collaborate, and luckily he agreed. It was our first time working with a producer, but I think we we're all coming from a similar headspace because it just felt like there was just a 5th member in the band. It's one of our heavier songs and my personal favorite to play live."
