What We Are Looking For:

This job requires excellent availability and accessibility, as well as ability to follow directions, agility to meet deadlines and complete zen under pressure. This news poster would be working under our Digital Content Editor to ensure that breaking stories are written, edited and posted in a timely manner. This position requires an absolute scene insider who is passionate about this corner of the music industry and has a finger on the pulse of the AltPress reader. Knowledge of AP style and embedding/basic coding are a must. Interest in pop culture, movies/television, videogames and other entertainment news a plus.

We are looking for people with previous experience in journalism, preferably breaking news or web-related. We would also prefer those who have or are pursuing a degree in journalism. All applicants must be at least 18 years old. This position is remote and does not require you to live in Cleveland; however, we prefer those in U.S. timezones.

Graphic Designer

What We Are Looking For:
The Graphic Designer at Alternative Press handles a variety of design related projects. Day to day tasks include working directly with the Marketing Department to design visually compelling campaigns. Includes, but not limited to, banner ads, eBlasts, social media graphics, posters, admats for tours, promotional merchandise, etc. Individual may need to work with outside vendors/printers and follow through with designing, troubleshooting, uploading and completing orders. Monthly tasks of working with the Editorial Department to produce a print and digital magazine that involves creating interesting and engaging page layouts, handling photo lists, coordinating with the Advertising Department to ensure proper ads are received, etc. The ideal candidate must have a strong grasp on typography and design theory and be able to handle a fast paced turn around. Job Qualifications:-
—Typography guru
—Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
—Must be personable and have great written and oral communication
—Creative and critical thinker to push through the design process
—Flexible and willing to take and give constructive criticism to acheive best outcome
—Be able to take initiative and work alone to complete a project from start to finish
—Thrive in a fast paced environment
—Video (shooting/editing), photography and motion graphics (animation) a definite plus
—Have a passion for music!

National Advertising & Sponsorship Sales Representative

What We Are Looking For:
Alternative Press Media is looking for a confident, self-motivated individual to join our staff in Cleveland as a National Advertising & Sponsorship Sales Representative. This candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of contemporary young adult culture, including the areas of music, movies & television, online, style and technology trends.

The successful candidate will have a background in media sales with a strength in digital sales. This position will oversee existing national business in addition to establishing relationships with new marketing and advertising partners for our online/digital initiatives, print publications and events/tours.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute cross-platform marketing/advertising campaigns for clients; from content creative to implementation.

Creating custom proposals, prepare presentations and managing the overall packages that are delivered to clients.
Identifying sales opportunities and approaching potential new clients.
Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and sell creative advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
Researching and staying current with new and emerging technologies, including online/interactive properties that could be essential to implementing exciting new advertising properties for clients.

Job Qualifications:
-- Comprehensive understanding of youth/popular culture (music/film/TV/books/tech).
-- Proficiency in Macintosh, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
-- Minimum 3 years of media sales (print, digital and/or event).
-- Please include salary requirements.
-- Meticulously organized, detail-oriented and prefer a clean work area.
-- Dynamic, flexible, hard-working and doesn’t take “No” for an answer.
-- Team player with strong negotiation skills.
-- Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
