HQ: Minneapolis, MN
NOW PLAYING: Oil And Water EP (GREY FLIGHT; greyflight.com) THE STORY SO FAR: While Minneapolis music fans may still be mourning the respective breakups of local heroes Cadillac Blindside, the Crush and Song Of Zarathustra, they'll be happy to know members of each band are keeping active in the Cardinal Sin. Of course, the band would also prefer fans to forget about the past, says drummer Becky Hanten. "I don't think we have a story yet-not one anyone would want to read, anyway," she notes. "If anything, our story is untold and in the future." WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: While the Cardinal Sin's members already have an impressive pedigree, they're still humble about their ever-growing fanbase. "Fans of our old bands have shown [us a lot of] support," Hanten says. "It's so rewarding to learn that they're excited about what we're doing now." Odds are, one listen to the quartet's dark, brooding melodic punk on their Oil And Water EP, and you'll be excited, too. -Scott Heisel YOU LIKE?
