NOW PLAYING: Insult, Injury, Etc... (ABACUS; abacusrecordings.com) THE STORY SO FAR: With one album (2003’s That Was A Moment, on Negative Progression Records) and a hyper-extended van odometer in their pockets, the Goodwill broke from touring long enough to sign with Abacus Recordings in 2004, then to hit the studio with producer Dean Baltulonis (Brand New) to record their label debut. Now that Insult, Injury, Etc… is out there, “We want to get our music out to as many people as possible,” guitarist Travis Johnides says from (where else?) the road. “My plans [for that] are to tour, tour, tour.” WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW ’EM: If you like your pop-punk with a side of textured, dual-guitar darkness, the Goodwill’s newer, matured sound on Insult will more than satiate you. If not, says Johnides, don’t worry—you’ll come around. “We make great music. We are determined like no other,” he says flatly. “This is a legitimate warning right now: We plan on being up in everyone’s faces for a long, long time!” —Aaron Burgess YOU LIKE?
