HQ: Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaNOW PLAYING: The Sounds Of Love EP (FEARLESS; fearlessrecords.com) THE STORY SO FAR: The definition of multitasking might be found personified in the Morning Light's vocalist/keyboardist Harrison Wargo. For the past few years he balanced attaining his high school diploma and touring with the likes of MxPx and the Rocket Summer as bassist in Transition. He increased his workload last year, when he left the pop-punk outfit to focus on his own piano-pop project the Morning Light. Joined by friends Bobby Garver (vocals), Matt Coloussy (guitar, also of Transition) Andy McDonald (bass) and Nick Baxter (drums), the five-piece were promptly signed by Fearless and sent on tour with All Time Low. "We kinda just wanted to make songs we liked," says Wargo. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Few bands go from basement practices to Bamboozle Left in the span of a year, but the Morning Light can claim to have made the jump. Their brand of sunny pop is almost a throwback, which isn't surprising considering that Wargo draws much of his influence from bands of past decades--like the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Zombies. "I've known since I was 7 or 8 that this is what I've wanted to do," says Wargo. "I really enjoy creating and writing songs. Nothing else makes me feel that way." YOU LIKE? They seem like a Christian band. But anyway, I love their songs! :)
