THE STORY SO FAR: LoveHateHero seemed to have it all in 2005. After relentless self-promoting, they were picked up by Ferret Records who released the band's debut album, Just Breathe, that May. But days before the band were to depart for a tour in with the Fully Down in January 2006, vocalist Pierrick Berube says inner-band struggles came to a head. Two members (one of whom owned the band's only van) decided to call it quits. "We were supposed to leave in four days," says Berube. "We had to find [replacements] and a van in four days!" The remaining guys emptied their bank accounts, Berube sold his ride to pay for an old airport shuttle and the shows went on.

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Still rolling in the "amazingly huge" airport shuttle as a group that works as a cohesive unit, Berube says LHH is now a family. Their newest endeavour, the post-hardcore, screamo-infused White Lies, was written in only a month and features a lot of storytelling from the road-including some about girls who try to ruin the band's pre-existing relationships. And Berube excitedly states that it's also a lot heavier than the first album. "The guitars are crazy-really metal and intricate," he says. "It's an album we're all proud of." - Adam K.
