AP EXCLUSIVE: FALL OUT BOY PUSH RELEASE DATE TO DEC. 16Posted by Tim Karan on 13-Oct-08 @ 05:03 PM
Fall Out Boy have revealed to AP that they will be pushing back the release of their fifth studio album, Folie A Deux, from the original date of Nov. 4 to Dec. 16. Bassist Pete Wentz had this to say:"After having pushed the record back, we have decided to release it december 16. While that late in the year may be a suprise to many people. We felt that it was important to get our record out this year. Though this is not the date we had originally planned we have put our feet down and told our label it must come out this year." The band also released this statement: Six months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day but this is not the election to be cute. This is the most important election of our time and, as much as the record is a social commentary and the term "folie a deux" is relevant to the candidates, we felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick. |
If they already have 2 songs available, then why not release it on the 4th? I mean they did that whole ad campaign, what's taking so long? Just put it on fucking iTunes and call it a day!
