Lemonheads reform, sign to Vagrant; new album this fall

Influential alternative-rock band the Lemonheads, led by frontman Evan Dando, have officially announced that they have reformed and signed to California-based indie label Vagrant Records. The band are currently completing their eighth studio album and first since 1996's Atlantic-released Car Button Cloth. Vagrant will release the album this fall.

Dando is currently the only original member in the band; Karl Alvarez and Bill Stevenson from the Descendents are playing bass and drums in the group, respectively.

"The thing I remember most about Vagrant's first year is being locked up in my apartment, drinking coffee, stuffing 7-inches into envelopes and listening to It's A Shame About Ray on cassette all day, every day," says Vagrant president Rich Egan. "If it wasn't for that record, we probably would've left the apartment eventually and given up the label. Nobody writes songs like Evan Dando, nobody sings likes him... the new songs are incredible. He is in top form."
