More Riot Fest details announced; Riot Fest West in LA confirmed

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 6/3/09 @ 12:34 PM - altpress.com

It seemed like only yesterday we were bringing you news of this fall's Riot Fest lineup, featuring Alkaline Trio, NOFX, Screeching Weasel, the Dead Milkmen, Murder City Devils and Cock Sparrer. (Actually, it was yesterday.) Still, we've been able to unearth some more details in the past 12 hours, so here we go...

The main Riot Fest will take place Oct. 7-11 in Chicago as previously revealed, at the following venues: Congress Theater, the Metro, Double Door, Subterranean and Cobra Lounge. There will also be four secret shows in Chicago for early ticket holders, beginning in August. Five-day passes will cost $99 and will get you into 14 shows total; they go on sale here this Saturday, June 6 at noon CST.

But wait, there's more: This year, there will be a west-coast counterpart to Riot Fest, cleverly called Riot Fest West. Taking place Nov. 12-14 at Palladium, the Wiltern, Key Club and the Roxy in Los Angeles, no bands have been confirmed for RFW yet but we're keeping our ears to the ground.

You can see a trailer for 2009's Riot Fest below to get yourself hyped up:

Early 'Spider-Man 4' poster unveiled

Alternative Press - Rachel Lux on 6/3/09 @ 11:04 AM - altpress.com

A very early version of a Spider-Man 4 poster has found its way online, presumably from a recent licensing show in Las Vegas.

If the poster's correct, the movie is set to hit theaters May 6, 2011. No official word yet if Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are set to star again. Uh, set your countdown calendars now?
