TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PLANS THURSDAY/ENVY SPLITPosted by Ben Sailer on 02-Apr-08 @ 02:35 PM
File this one under "it almost sounds too good to be true": Modern post-hardcore legends Thursday and Japanese screamo/post-rock outfit Envy will be releasing a split LP/CD on Temporary Residence sometime this fall. The label had the following to say concerning the release:There will be no separated CD or LP versions. Both formats will come in one package, and both will contain the same music. We're not exactly sure how limited it will be yet; maybe 10,000, maybe a billion (probably closer to the former, as we really don't have space for a billion LPs). In addition, there will be a deluxe, hand-printed edition that will be sold exclusively through our webstore. These will be screenprinted and assembled by hand, and will be colored vinyl, limited to 1000 copies. Source: Punknews.org [ |

ELYSIA DEBUT "BOX OF NEEDLES"Posted by Ben Sailer on 01-Apr-08 @ 09:35 PM
Sacramento metalcore upstarts Elysia have posted the first new track from their upcoming Ferret debut, Lion Of Judas. You can listen to "Box Of Needles" on their MySpace page here. The band recorded with Kurt Ballou (Converge) at God City Studios. Vocalist Zak Vargas had this to say about the forthcoming album: "The sound of the album is very offbeat and weird compared to what is going on in the scene right now, still very heavy but we played around with a lot of with the instruments, and we even threw a tambourine in the mix." Lion Of Judas is due out on June 10. [ |

THE BANNER POST NEW ALBUM TRACKPosted by Ben Sailer on 01-Apr-08 @ 06:04 PM
Goth-themed hardcore outfit The Banner have posted a new song. Head over to their MySpace page here to listen to "Dusk." The band is currently hard at work on their third full-length, Frailty, with vocalist Joey Southside saying the following in regards to the upcoming record: "The songs are all focused, and there are some that are very short, like bursts of anger. There are straight up black metal riffs through the whole thing, and our drummer, Pollution, is really powerful so the drums are very heavy on the punk stuff, which I personally love." If this blog is to be believed, the album should be out sometime this June on Ferret. [ |
