Members of Sparta, Avail, Engine Down form Heks Orkest
Scott Heisel on 8/11/09 @ 1:05 PM
Keeley Davis, formerly of Engine Down and Denali and currently of Sparta, has announced via his blog the formation of a new band, Heks Orkest (which, in case you were wondering, means "witch orchestra" in Dutch). Alongside him in this new band is former Engine Down/Denali bandmate Jonathan Fuller on bass and former Denali bandmate Cam DiNunzio on guitar, as well as drummer Ed Trask of Avail, vocalist Dave Grant (ex-Action Patrol). Davis had this to say about the new group's formation:
"So this is the new project involving old guys. Don't think we won't still sweat and tear a hole in your ear drum. It's on like Donkey Kong."
You can currently download two songs from the band on their website; they will be debuting their lineup live next month. Details:

Atmosphere frontman, MURS hint at new Felt album
Chris French on 8/11/09 @ 12:08 PM
Slug, co-founder of Rhymesayers Entertainment and one-half of veteran hip-hop duo Atmosphere, along with fellow emcee MURS, have launched a video hinting at a third Felt record. Currently, Felt is comprised of the two emcees, but the clip suggests that a third member might join the twosome on the new record. The video also indicates that the group's third release will be yet another "tribute" album, following 2002's Felt: A Tribute to Christina Ricci and 2005's Felt, Vol. 2: A Tribute to Lisa Bonet. The duo has stated that more clues regarding the new album will surface throughout the week. You can check out the video below:
