Pete Wentz speaks up about Millionaires and Decaydance

Scott Heisel on 7/20/09 @ 4:27 PM

After weeks of cries of anguish from fans responding to the apparent signing of crunk-something trio Millionaires to Decaydance, record mogul Pete Wentz has cleared the air a little. Below is part of what he said on his blog.

"I wanted to clear up the rumors and theories and set the record straight about the Millionaires and Decaydance.

The Millionaires are friends with Gabe. I am friends with Gabe. Gabe brought them to Crush. Gabe and I are both managed by Crush.

They are doing warped tour and Crush wanted their digital ep pressed. Decaydance is downstairs from Crush. We pressed 2,000 copies (future ebay collectors items if you get one with the Decaydance logo). They are NOT signed to Decaydance."

Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch diagnosed with cancerous tumor

Scott Heisel on 7/20/09 @ 12:34 PM

Adam "MCA" Yauch, one-third of legendary rap group the Beastie Boys, has announced that he was diagnosed last week with having a cancerous tumor in his left parotid (salivary) gland. According to his publicist, Laura Eldeiry, the tumor was caught early, which makes it "very treatable." The cancer will reportedly not affect his vocal cords; however, the band have canceled all upcoming concert appearances, including their upcoming headlining spot at this summer's Lollapalooza festival, and have pushed back the release of their new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, from Sept. 15 to a new date TBD.

You can watch a video statement from Yauch below.
