Panic! At The Disco regain exclamation point, post new demo

Scott Heisel on 7/10/09 @ 12:41 PM

Okay, let's recap: This past Monday, Panic At The Disco guitarist/primary songwriter Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker quit the band. Then, hours later, Brendon Urie (vocals) and Spencer Smith (drums) responded to Ross and Walker's departure, assuring fans that PATD will soldier on. Then, this past Tuesday, we brought you exclusive news of Panic's new single. But this trumps all of that: Ladies and gentlemen, the "!" is back. From Panic!'s website:

"Brendon and I have been hard at work in the studio writing and doing demos of new songs for all of you. Here is a clip of a new demo we recorded this past week...it's called 'Oh Glory.

We're really excited about the new songs were working on and can't wait to release more. In a few weeks we'll set out on the Blink-182 tour which is still unbelievable to us. They're the reason I started playing music, and I can't wait to be a part of something so to close me. Check back soon for more updates and our new single 'New Perspective.'

Sincerely,
Spencer of Panic! At The Disco"

AltPress Exclusive: Bleeding Through sign to Rise Records

Scott Heisel on 7/10/09 @ 12:11 PM

After a rather tumultuous three-album relationship with Trustkill Records, Alternative Press has exclusively learned that Orange County, California-based metalcore sextet Bleeding Through have made the jump to Portland, Oregon, label Rise Records.

"We're very excited to align with a record label that has so much momentum and is growing when many seem to be faltering, dropping bands and firing employees," says BT frontman Brandan Schieppati. "Rise continues to grow. We've been a band for a decade and we wanted to be with someone who is enthusiastic about Bleeding Through and is in a position to help us continue to grow and progress as well."

"We are beyond excited to work with Bleeding Through," says Rise president Craig Ericson. "We've been huge fans ever since they released an album on Indecision Records. Having Bleeding Through in the family is a dream come true. We both share extreme passion for music and can't wait to show the world what we can achieve together as a team."

"A lot of labels, managers and agents carry these egos as if they are the most important part of the equation," Schieppati continues. "It's all about what the bands can do for them, to advance their interests, instead of the other way around. We had a lot of serious interest from several labels, many of whom we get along with. But we felt like Rise is the best fit for us because they are excited about our band and our music first and foremost."

While the band won't enter the studio until early 2010 to record the follow-up to 2008's Declaration, they will embark on a brief West Coast tour this August in celebration of the band's 10th anniversary. Opening those shows will be Carnifex, Miss May I and Motionless In White. Dates:

AUG 21 Tucson, AZ @ The Rock
AUG 22 Farmington, NM @ Gators
AUG 23 Las Vegas, NV @ TBA
AUG 24 San Luis Obispo, CA @ Downtown Brew
AUG 25 San Jose, CA @ The Urgency
AUG 26 Roseburg, OR @ Riverside Grange
AUG 27 Sparks, NV @ New Oasis
AUG 28 Orangevale, CA @ The Boardwalk

Paramore surprise Warped Tour in Cleveland

Scott Heisel on 7/9/09 @ 6:09 PM

As was rumored yesterday, Paramore used their off-day from their tour with No Doubt to play a surprise set today on the main stage of Warped Tour in Cleveland, Ohio. The official Warped schedule only said, "Special Guest" in the 5:15 p.m. main stage slot, but the crowd packed in with expectations that Paramore would be the surprise. After Chiodos left the stage at 4:55 p.m., the stage was largely shut off from all but necessary crew, and chants of "Paramore" began to echo throughout the venue. When the members began trickling onstage, the crowd erupted in screams before vocalist Hayley Williams led the band into "Misery Business" and a set featuring a mix of older and new songs.

Set list was as follows:
Misery Business
For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic
Pressure
Ignorance
Crushcrushcrush
Where The Lines Overlap
That's What You Get
Let The Flames Begin
Decode

Paramore will rejoin No Doubt for their show July 10 in Indianapolis.
