Grade announces plans to reunite, record new songs for 7" comp

Ben Sailer on 7/1/09 @ 10:35 PM

In a news story almost certainly no one saw coming, Canadian post-hardcore legends Grade have announced plans to reunite and record two new tracks for a double split 7" with Bane, Between Earth And Sky and Unrestrained.

Bassist Matt Jones issued the following statement:

"On July 6th we're starting to record a couple of new songs for the At Both Ends Magazine final issue double 7" comp with our old friends from Bane. Shawn, Greg, Kyle and I have been jamming with our good friend Matt Richmond (from the Video Dead and Saint Alvia) for a little while now. What started out as getting together to jam for fun has produced some pretty awesome new songs and we can't wait to get in the studio and see what we can do with them. No plans for reunion tours or albums or any of that stuff right now, we're just having a good time playing together again and we'll see where it goes from here."

Grade formed in 1994 and called it quits in 2002. They put out their final full-length, Headfirst Straight To Hell, on Victory Records in 2001. The band was covered in AP 240 as part of the "23 Bands Who Shaped Punk" feature.

You can find more information about the comp on the Bridge 9 message board here.
