The Fall Of Troy to take "indefinite break" following #12 tour

Scott Heisel on 5/1/06 @ 3:17 PM

Over the weekend, rumors were flying that Equal Vision buzz band the Fall Of Troy broke up after a particularly calamitous show in Columbus, Ohio, on their current tour with the Number Twelve Looks Like You, the Blackout Pact and Heavy Heavy Low Low. Vocalist/guitarist Thomas Serak has posted the following on his band's message board in order to explain just what exactly is going on with the Seattle trio.
"Without giving any of you details that you don't need... The last 2 days have been the hardest days for this band ever. People have done everything that we never wanted to do. We've been on the road now for a very very long time, and last night was the culmination of it all... We are VERY sorry for the actions we took, but we just couldn't control it. I walked off the stage because I felt embarrasses of it all, I didn't want to come back out, but I came back out for you guys? The kids! Cause I fucking care more about you guys than this fucking band. We love each and everyone of you, so please try to understand were going through some very difficult times but we ARE trying to make it through...

We will be finishing the dates with #12 than going on an indefinate break following. We are going to try to get new songs together and get our heads straight... We don't want this band to end, but we don't want it to continue on in the fashion it has been lately. We are EXTREMELY sorry to you guys in Indiana and Ohio. You kids were awesome and should've been given the insane show you deserved. And hopefully next time, we'll do so."
As the band stated, they plan on finishing out this current tour; their management has informed AP that also includes their appearance at this weekend's Bamboozle. All dates beyond that are currently off. The band's remaining shows are below:

Day At The Fair break up

Scott Heisel on 5/1/06 @ 1:23 PM

Rushmore Records pop-punk band Day At The Fair have announced they have broken up. The New Jersey band, fronted by Lanemeyer's Chris Barker, suffered a number of lineup changes in their six-year existence; their most recent album was 2005's The Rocking Chair Years. Barker posted the following message regarding the band's demise:
"Ya know that dog you have that just lies around all day? The kind of dog thats been on its last leg for sometime. No one bothers petting it, playing with it, throwing it a friggin bone every now and again. It's just not that much fun to have around anymore. Eventually, after paying all its bills and going broke in the process, you are left with two options. Do I: A) Keep it alive, see what happens or B) Take the thing out back and shoot it???

We chose option B

Thanks for the memories everyone, We're Movin On
Love, CHRIS (and Rob, Steve, Todd, Kevin, Monkey, Sean, Frank, Mike, Justin, and Kelly)"

Radiohead announce North American dates

Scott Heisel on 5/1/06 @ 10:39 AM

Legendary art-rock group Radiohead have announced their first batch of North American tour dates in a number of years. The band will play two-night stands in cities all over the U.S. and Canada starting June 1-2 in Philadelphia. The tour will wrap up at the end of the month in Los Angeles.

"Set lists for the shows will draw heavily on the newer material the band has been working on over the past months," says the band's publicist. "The performances will take place in smaller than usual venues, and will feature appropriately scaled down staging and lighting design, creating a suitably intimate environment for the first ever airings of several new songs... [However], there are no plans for a Radiohead album release any time in 2006."
