AltPress Exclusive: Enter Shikari detail new album, touring plans

Scott Heisel on 6/8/09 @ 7:00 AM

Dang-near unclassifiable British techno/punk/trance/screamo outfit Enter Shikari have filled us in on the specifics about their immediate future. The group will release their upcoming full-length, Common Dreads, on June 16 through Ambush Reality in partnership with DGC/Interscope. The album--produced by Andy Gray (U2, Korn) is the follow-up to the band's 2007 release, Take To The Skies. A press release on behalf of the band says that the album will touch upon hot-button topics like economic recession, state control and accelerated capitalism. Frontman Rou Reynolds says:
"Politics are unavoidable. We just can't write sappy music. Our first album was cryptic and metaphor-heavy, this one is more direct. Since we gained popularity, we realized, whether we like it or not, we have the ability to influence people--and with that is a responsibility to speak our minds."
