Tim Armstrong says Operation Ivy reunion unlikely

Tim Karan on 6/5/09 @ 9:34 PM

Rancid vocalist/guitarist Tim Armstrong recently opened up about the possibility of his former band, punk institution Operation Ivy, ever reuniting. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Armstrong said:
"I love what we did back then, but what we do now is move forward. To go back 20 years wouldn't feel right. I'm super proud of what we did then, a big part of me is in that band. But it's always about the future for me."

Armstrong, who in addition to playing in Rancid also founded Hellcat Records, said that he and other members of Operation Ivy--who broke up in 1989--all remain friends.
