Dashboard Confessional/New Found Glory tour canceled

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 10/30/09 @ 5:19 PM - altpress.com

Due to a family emergency, the upcoming Dashboard Confessional/New Found Glory tour has been canceled. The band posted the following statement on their blog:

"We have some bad news. Due to a family situation that is beyond our control, we have to cancel our upcoming tour with New Found Glory, Never Shout Never, Meg & Dia and Single File (we are still playing with the Louisville Orchestra on November 7th). We don't take this lightly but family has to come first. As this is a last minute development, we are still figuring out what we will do- as soon as we know, you will know. We apologize to everyone who planned on coming to the shows. We will find a way to make it up to you."

Dashboard's new album, Alter The Ending, drops Nov. 10 on Vagrant/Interscope.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon tour to kick off Nov. 6

Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 10/30/09 @ 11:06 AM - altpress.com

A tour has been announced featuring artists from The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack and several actors from the film. Death Cab For Cutie, Anya Marina, Sea Wolf and Band Of Skulls--all of whom have songs on the soundtrack--are set to play the tour kickoff on Nov. 6 in Los Angeles before embarking on a mall tour of 14 more dates across the country. Members of the cast will also be along for the ride to be a part of Q&A sessions with fans. No word on which actors will be taking part or if all the bands will play every date.

In its first week in stores and online, the soundtrack to New Moon has risen to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album, which features music by Death Cab For Cutie, Muse and more, debuted four days earlier than scheduled, but still debuted at No. 2 after an abbreviated week of sales. The soundtrack to 2008's Twilight also reached the top spot on the chart, making this the first time in history that a movie soundtrack and the soundtrack to its sequel both topped the chart.

11/08 - Denver, CO @ Park Meadows
11/09 - Boston, MA @ Natick Collection
11/09 - Chicago, IL @ Mall Location TBD
