Amy Winehouse found dead at age 27, musicians respond

The world found out that Amy Winehouse passed away today at age 27, after being found in her London home. Sources are allegedly reporting that her death was an overdose. Further information is to be released in time.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Winehouse's friends and family. Musicians quickly took to their twitter, just like most anyone else, to share their thoughts on the tragic story. Here are a select few:

Stephen Gomez (@Stephen_James) of the Summer Set: Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison changed music, Amy Winehouse did not. Her death is nonetheless very sad, but.. I don't think her contributions to music by any means make her part of the #27club. Call me an asshole, whatever. She did have a pretty killer voice though. I never said her death wasn't sad, I never said she wasn't a great artist. Chill out.

Josh Withenshaw (@EAJosh) of Every Avenue: People should stop dying.

Alex Gaskarth (@AlexAllTimeLow) of All Time Low: Really sad to hear about Amy Winehouse. Such a massive talent. Albums on repeat, volume up to 11. Sing on, lady, sing on. RIP

Hayley Williams (@yelyahwilliams) of Paramore: Just read about Amy Winehouse. Can't believe it. She'll never truly be gone cause have you heard that voice? Rest In Peace Amy.

Pete Wentz (@PeteWentz) of Fall Out Boy / Black Cards: super sad to hear about the news. RIP. never take life for granted.

James Euringer (@JimmyUrine) of Mindless Self Indulgence: YOU DIDNT GIVE A SHIT BOUT HER WHEN SHE WAZ A LIVING DRUG ADDICT NOW U MISS HER CUZ SHEz A DEAD DRUG ADDICT FUCK U FUCK HER MOURN DA RECORD

Alex Deleon (@AlexanderDeleon) of the Cab: hate that so many people, especially talented ones, surrender their life to addiction. the only addiction you should have is to life itself.

Ronnie Radke (@RedRumRonnie) of Falling In Reverse: RT @AudreyKitching: if you're struggling with an addiction please get help! It's very serious and should be addressed ... RIP #amywhinehouse :(

Jess Bowen (@theJessSet) of the Summer Set: Making someone's death into a joke isn't going to get you a top tweet.. stop being disrespectful. RIP Amy Winehouse.

Jonathan Olivares (@ShutUpJnthn) of Shut Up And Deal: Terrible about Miss Winehouse. May her soul RIP

Jono Diener (@JonoDiener) of the Swellers: To all the passive aggressive tweets from my friends: it's upsetting Amy Winehouse passed. Don't care she had a drug problem. Just think...  People should at least hear what happened in Norway because it seems 2 tragedies at once overshadow each other.

Anthony Raneri (@AnthonyRaneri) of Bayside: I guess I'll never get that Back to Black follow up I've been waiting for. Very bummed about that. RIP

Teddy Roberts (@ThisisHampshire) of Hampshire: Is Amy Whinehouse dead?

Jonathan Weber (@Jwebmusic) of Yours Truly: People ripping on Amy Whinehouse: calm down, she had a problem that took over her life, and I'm pretty sure we all have our problems

Sierra Kusterbeck (@SierraVE) of VersaEmerge: RIP Amy Winehouse. You were a huge inspiration to me.
Not in the smoking crack kind of way. Welcome to the 27 club.

Jerry Roush (@JerryRoush) ex-Sky Eats Airplane, Of Mice & Men: amy winehouse isnt dead... she's just invented "permanent planking". i mean they did try and make her go to rehab...she said no no no. they fucking tried. you said no.

Justin Siegel (@JustinSiegel) of Stars In Stereo: So insanely tragic. I really hope her label can exhibit some self control before exploiting this. RIP.
