Marc Webb, the man responsible for giving the Spider-Man franchise a much-needed jolt, confirmed that he will return to direct the film's sequel. Andrew Garfield, who plays the web-slinging superhero, and Emma Stone, who plays his leading lady Gwen Stacy, will also return for the movie.
Shooting for the sequel will begin early next year, and it's expected to hit theaters May 2, 2014.
Webb directed this summer's The Amazing Spider-Man which grossed about $35 million dollars on its opening day, setting a record for the highest Tuesday opening. The movie went on to make $750-plus million worldwide.
