The Format to take an indefinite hiatus

February 4, 2008

The Format to take an indefinite hiatus Arizona pop-rock duo the Format have announced that starting immediately, they have begun an indefinite hiatus and are focusing on individual material.

“We came out of tour last Fall and realized that we all have different aspirations right now. It didn’t feel like the right time to create a new Format album,” said Nate Ruess in a statement, adding "There's nothing scandalous about this decision. Sam and I remain extremely close.”

The duo will continue to run their record label, and Ruess is already working on his solo album, with plans to release it later this year.
