As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis pleads guilty; faces nine years in prison

After some delay in his trial, As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis appeared in court today, February 25, in Vista, CA.

According to NBC 7 San Diego, the singer changed his plea in court to guilty, admitting that he attempted to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife, Meggan. As a result of this plea, Lambeisis will serve nine years in jail.

But according to Lambgoat’s courtroom mole, the reported nine years is not a concrete sentence, as the duration of prison time was not defined in the plea deal. So, in the end, the singer could face a different duration of prison time. As part of the deal, he could serve up to nine years in prison, an additional four years of parole following his release and a fine of $10,000.

Sentencing will take place May 2.

Lambesis in court today:

Lambesis was arrested in May 2013 and charged with Solicitation Of Another To Commit Murder, after attempting to hire a hitman to kill his wife, Meggan. He had previously explained that he wanted his wife dead because she was going to get around sixty percent of his income in the event of a divorce and would not allow their children to tour with him.

The singer is also facing a $2 million civil lawsuit from his wife for emotional distress, medical expenses, damages and legal fees.
