If you haven’t listened to New Jersey rock band Can’t Swim, then 2017 might just be the year that puts them on your radar. The band announced the release date for their debut full-length, Fail You Again, for March 10 via Pure Noise Records.

In addition to releasing their album release date, the band also announced the addition of their new drummer Andrea Morgan and a brand new track, “We Won’t Sleep.” Check out the music video for the song below!

The video for “We Won’t Sleep,” which premiered on CLRVYNT, tells the story of people who don’t fit into their stereotypical roles, something vocalist and guitarist Chirs LoPorto can personally relate to after being told countless times to consider a “different path in life” instead of music.

“The video for ‘We Won't Sleep’ shows a scenario that a lot of kids go through growing up. The boy character is interested in Ballet, an art form mostly dominated by women, and his struggle to be accepted by his over masculine father. The girl character wants to be a painter and follow the arts, which is also shunned by her business-oriented mother,” LoPorto says.

“In the climax of the video, the parents have an epiphany realizing they should support their children which is the message I hope people take from this video.”

Plus, in the making of the new record, the band switched around instruments and enlisted drummer Andrea Morgan, who rounds out the current lineup with LoPorto (vocals/guitar), Danny Rico (guitar), Greg McDevitt (bass) and Mike Sanchez (guitar).

“Once we finished our new record, we sat in a room and started to hash out the new songs live. We quickly realized we needed a third guitar player to do these songs justice. Danny (our former drummer) was so involved in the writing and recording of the guitar parts, it made a lot of sense to have him do it,” LoPorto explains.

“A dear friend from back home was the first we thought of for the spot. We contacted her immediately and asked her if she wanted to jam. After the first 5 minutes of playing together, my mind was completely made up. We all want the same things out of this band and all want to accomplish the same goals with our music.”
