Ceremony release covers EP, sign to Matador Records

Bay Area hardcore stalwarts Ceremony will release a covers EP via Bridge Nine Records on August 9. Titled Covers, the six-song release includes covers of songs by Urban Waste, Pixies, Crisis, Wire and more. (Full tracklisting below.) In addition, B9 announced that Ceremony has signed to Matador Records. In a statement, label owner Chris Wrenn says:

Today is a very bittersweet day, as Ceremony is moving on to Matador. We are sad to see them go, but so excited and proud of the band. Our relationship with Ceremony has been an incredible one over the years and we will continue to stay close with the band. B9 wishes Ceremony the absolute best, and are just as excited as everyone else to hear their next record.

Over at Matador's Matablog, the label states that Ceremony will record a new full-length this fall, and it will see the light of day in the first half of 2012.
