Exclusive: Dance Gavin Dance part ways with vocalist, original vocalist Jonny Craig back

Dance Gavin Dance have exclusively revealed to Altpress that they have parted ways with vocalist Kurt Travis and that original vocalists Jonny Craig (now of Emarosa) and Jon Mess will be returning to the band to record a new album. The reunited lineup will also embark on a headlining run next spring. Craig will remain in Emarosa as well.

DGD released this statement to us, "Dance Gavin Dance have officially parted ways with their vocalist Kurt Travis. The band and Kurt remain friends, and they wish Kurt the best in all of his future endeavors. The band know they've been dealing with a lot of member changes, but they assure their fans that it's all for the best. They would also like to announce the return of original vocalist Jonny Craig. Jonny will join other returning vocalist Jon Mess in the studio this fall to record their forthcoming release on Rise Records due out next year. This will not affect Jonny Craig's work with Emarosa or his solo project. The band are excited to start the next chapter of Dance Gavin Dance and are excited to revisit the days of [2007's] Downtown Battle Mountain."

After forming out of Sacramento, California, in 2005, many lineup changes ravaged the band. Craig left in 2007 and was replaced by Travis; Mess parted ways with the band before their self-titled album was released in 2008.
