Frank Iero, Ray Toro and James Dewees have donated rare items to be raffled off with proceeds going to the U.K. Make-A-Wish Foundation at an upcoming My Chemical Romance fan meet-up celebrating ten years of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge.
Fans who are interested in owning one-of-a-kind MCR items, including a Danger Days… World Contamination Tour custom laundry bag (courtesy of Dewees), a signed Jet Star helmet (worn by Toro in the Danger Days… music videos), a one-of-a-kind Frank Iero print and more can purchase raffle tickets to enter the drawing on June 7 at Camden Barfly in London.
“It is nice to see the legacy of the band live on in that manner,” Toro told event organizer Caz Hill, who along with another U.K. fan named Yazmin Beckett, has set up several successful charity events in the name of MCR over the years.
At the most recent event in 2012, the U.K. MCRmy, inspired by the band’s #SingItForJapan charity work, showed up in hundreds and raised more than £2,000 (about $3,370) toward relief efforts in Japan following the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami. According to Hill, the U.K. fanbase has raised more than £4,000 ($6,744) total for various MCR-supported causes.
“Ray, James and Frank have donated incredible, unique, awesome items,” Hill said. “They went out of their way to contact me offering their support. I can’t thank them enough. Their big hearts, and continuing kindness to the fanbase is mindblowing.”
Space is limited at the Barfly, so please RSVP via the Facebook event page. There will be an entry fee of £3.50 and the event is restricted to fans aged 14+.
The MCRmy is up for the “Most Dedicated Fans” APMA, which you can vote for now.
