It’s time to get excited for Demon Dayz. After making their live return over the weekend, performing the entirety of their new album, Humanz, Gorillaz have confirmed that Noel Gallagher and Graham Coxon, as well as other guests from their forthcoming album, will be making an appearance at their first-ever Demon Dayz Festival. “A few people couldn’t make it because they had other stuff that was booked in beforehand,” frontman Damon Albarn says. “But they’ll be all here when we play Margate.”
Last week, the band debuted four new songs—"Saturnz Barz," "Andromeda," "We've Got The Power" and "Ascension"—taken from their upcoming release, Humanz, set to drop April 28.
Gorillaz had been teasing their long-awaited comeback album over the last few months. News surfaced that 26 songs have been registered to the Phonographic Performance Ltd website, a British-based music licensing company, and the band revealed both the title and release dates via Instagram. Check out the posts here.
And the band performed their album in full last weekend at Printworks London. For some behind the scenes footage, featuring the likes of Noel Gallagher, Pusha T and Danny Brown, watch the videos here.
“We’ve got pretty much everyone who’s on the record here. A few people couldn’t make it because they had other stuff that was booked in beforehand. But they’ll be all here when we play Margate,” Albarn said, reports NME. “I’m not going to introduce everyone because I’d spend the whole evening doing that.”
Demon Dayz will be taking place June 10 at Dreamland, an amusement park, with the full line up to be announced soon. For fans who will not be able to make it to the festival, it'll be broadcast live via Red Bull TV.
