At this year's APMAs, Icon Award recipient Marilyn Manson teased his new album, SAY10, which is due out Valentine's Day of next year, Feb. 14, 2017.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Manson drew comparisons between SAY10 and his iconic albums Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals. Read what he had to say below.

"It's not very much in any way like The Pale Emperor," Manson says. "The people who have heard the new songs said it reminded them of their favorite parts of Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals – but with a new, different approach."

He continues, "It's pretty violent in its nature for some reason."

"And it's not emotional in the same way. It's got a chip on its shoulder. I enjoyed doing it. I can't wait for people to hear it. I think they're going to be quite surprised," he concludes.

On The Pale Emperor, his latest album from 2015, Manson worked with composer Tyler Bates. Both also worked on the theme music and the latter on the score for Salem, a TV show about the witch trials, which also features Manson. The third season will air early Nov. 2016.

"It did bring back memories of creating Antichrist Superstar, which, strangely enough, October is the 20th anniversary of," Manson continues to Rolling Stone. "I found the supernatural element of the show to be very authentic when I lived in New Orleans: the hoodoo, voodoo, all the Santeria, it was all very much a part of my surroundings when I was making the music I made down there. Maybe that kickstarted my mojo into making a new album."

Antichrist Superstar was Manson's breakthrough record from 1996, which landed him a No. 3 debut on Billboard's 200 chart.

Mechanical Animals released in 1998, and The Pale Emperor released in 2015. Manson's discography includes 10 albums with SAY10.
