Morrissey Refers To Chinese As “Subspecies”

Legendary singer, Morrissey, who's been in hot water before with charges of racism, dips back into that water once more tomorrow when a provocative new interview in Britain's The Guardian is released.

The iconic former lead singer for The Smiths, now 51, and a vehement supporter of animal rights and vegetarianism, describes the treatment of animals in China, particularly in circus and zoos thanks to recent news stories as "absolutely horrific,"  telling Guardian reporter Simon Armitage, "Did you see the thing on the news about their treatment of animals and animal welfare? Absolutely horrific. You can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies."
