While we're still two years off from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts opening its new Star Wars-themed lands, the company has revealed new details about the lands during the “Star Wars and Disney Parks: A Galaxy in the Making” panel in Orlando.
Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Imagineering discussed their partnership and shared additional details and concept art of what guests at the parks can expect come opening day.
"Our goal as we set out on this journey, was to create a place that was so authentic, so real, that when our guests stepped inside, they're there. They're in the movie," Chris Beatty, Executive Creative Director shares.
About the land, Disney Parks writes it's a: "mysterious destination somewhere on the Outer Rim—lying on the edge of the Unknown Regions. The remote village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer less attention, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe-haven for others intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order."
