Nirvana, The Replacements among 2014 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nominees

Nirvana and The Replacements are among the sixteen artists newly nominated for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2014.

The youngest band on the list and also a favorite to be selected, Nirvana barely fall within the ceremony's 25 year eligibility window with their 1989 debut, Bleach. If chosen, the band would be inducted in April, exactly two decades after the suicide of frontman Kurt Cobain.

Another freshman nominee, The Replacements recently took the stage together for the first time in 22 years to perform at all three Riot Fest events: Toronto, Chicago, and Denver. The influential rockers have not released a proper full-length album since 1990's All Shook Down.

Below, check out a full list of this year's Hall Of Fame nominees:

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band
Chic
Deep Purple
Peter Gabriel
Hall And Oates
Kiss
LL Cool J
Nirvana
N.W.A.
The Meters
The Replacements
Linda Ronstadt
Cat Stevens
Link Wray
Yes
The Zombies

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in New York in April, and is set to be broadcast on HBO. Voting is once again open to fans through December. The top five artists selected by fans will be submitted on a special fan ballot, while the majority of votes will be cast in secret by a panel of 600 musicians, critics, industry affiliates, and previous inductees.
