Skaters released the video for “Miss Teen Massachusetts” off of their debut album, Manhattan, which is set for release February 25. If you are looking for the future of post-punk, Skaters are ready to take over.

The band highlights the best elements of post-punk–fuzz guitar, stony vocals, unique instrumental layering and punchy lyrics to create a new sound that is reminiscent of bands such as the Smiths.

The video takes place in a Massachusetts mental-health institution, in which the band members are seen treating various female patients with alternative methods, such as music and light therapy.

Front man Michael Ian Cummings’ voice is as cold and distant as the patients in the mental institution appear to be, and along with Josh Hubbard’s distinctive guitar styling and Noah Rubin’s catchy drum lines, Skaters could be post-punk’s next big name.
